Welcome to Chesham Swimming Club...

We are a friendly club, based at Chesham Leisure Centre, which aims to develop children’s swimming skills and introduce children to competitive swimming.

The club has around 160 junior members – ages ranging from 7 – 18; and a further 20 adult members (Masters Section). It is organised in a squad structure which ensures that swimmers train with others of similar ability. The youngest swimmers are encouraged to train 2 or 3 times a week. As they develop, their training hours increase to 3 or 4 sessions a week and so on up to a maximum of 8 sessions a week.

As their skills develop they are invited to participate in a variety of competitions, sometimes within the club and sometimes as members of teams competing against other clubs. To this end the club sends swimmers to friendly galas (often graded to encourage youngsters to start competing), league galas, county, district and national competition – the aim is always to allow members to compete at a level appropriate to their development.
