Congratulations to Jasmin Ballingall & Will Rea both of whom achieved national qualifying times at Aldershot yesterday. Will qualified first in the 400 freestyle and then Jasmin in the 100 freestyle.

  Club Timekeepers' course

Happy New Year to you all

I am now finalising the list for anyone interested in qualifying as a Club Timekeeper.

Anyone aged 14 years and over may apply.

There will be a 2 ¹/₂ hour theory session, held at Chesham leisure centre, where Brenda will explain what is expected from a Club Timekeeper and one practical session where you will be assessed on your timekeeping for a minimum of 10 races.

We have Personal Challenge starting soon; also some of you are swimming or bringing your child along to a gala in the next few months. Ideal opportunities to be assessed.

The club records for 2007 have now been updated.

In the final round at Waterlooville the Chesham team recorded 9 first places. In individual events Jasmin Ballingall won the 15/under fly & the open freestyle; Emily Curtis won the 15/under breatstroke & William Rea won the 13/under freestyle & fly. The 13/under boys medley team - William Rose, Gregory Thornton, William Rea & Richard Morrison placed first as did the 15/under girls medley & free teams - from: Emily Curtis, Olivia Bailey, Isabel Brand, Jasmin Ballingall, Laura Parker & Sarah Pickin and the girls open freestyle squadron - Jessy Millican, Olivia Bailey, Izy Brand, Jasmin Ballingall, Clare Bartington & Emily Curtis.  

Over the last weekend a group of swimmers competed at Oxford whilst individuals competed in Nuneaton & Sheffield. At Oxford there were golds for Michael Curtis (50m breaststroke), Keil Critten (200m free), Jasmin Ballingall (50m & 100m fly), Emily Curtis (50m Breast) & Rachel Moore (200m Breaststroke). Keil added silver in the 100 fly whilst Jasmin won silver in the 50 free, 100 free & 200IM and bronze in the 200 free & 100 back. Lucy Barton took silvers in the 100 & 200 breaststroke, Laura Parker won silver in the 50 breast and Izy Brand won silver in the 50 free.  Bronze medals went to Marcus Johansson (400 free, 200 free & 100 back), Michael Curtis (400m free), Emily Curtis (200IM & 400 free), Poppy Hatfield (50 fly), Alie Curson (50 breast) & Izy Brand (100 back).
At Nuneaton Sarah Pickin pb'd in the 200 breaststroke & 200 IM. 
In Sheffield, at Ponds Forge (50m pool), William Rea pb'd in 6 out of 7 events.  He won 2 gold & 2 silver medals, set club age group records in 6 events and club open records in the 200 fly, 200 IM & 400 IM.
